Porsche's heavily modified experiment for the 1971 Le Mans 24. The 917/20 was built as test-bed for future Can-Am parts and aerodynamic "low-drag" concepts. It actually won the test race at Le Mans, sans its to-be-famous pink paint. A journalist commented on its portly appearance, prompting Porsche engineers to have the car painted in pink for the 24 hour race, with names of cuts of meat written in German across it in a similar fashion to a butcher's carcass diagram, giving it the nickname "Der Truffeljäger von Zuffenhausen" (The Truffelhunter of Zuffenhausen) or just plain "Pink Pig". Even though it was an experiment, the Pink Pig surprisingly qualified 7th for its only race- the 1971 Le Mans 24 Hours. Unfortunately, it only made it half-way - crashing in the middle of the night due to brake failure.
